Image
As government ministers from around the globe gather in Katowice, Poland, for the final days of the 24th U.N. climate summit, we speak with 15-year-old activist Greta Thunberg, who denounced politicians here last week for their inaction on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. She has garnered global attention for carrying out a weekly school strike against climate change in her home country of Sweden. “We need to change ourselves now, because tomorrow it might be too late,” says Thunberg. We are also joined by her father, Svante Thunberg, a Swedish actor. As an old aspie I totally understand this young person. We tend to think much deeper about things than most. She has sparked the change. You can't teach this. She was born this way. I'm excited to watch what she does in the future. She's going to accomplish great thing. Intelligent, honest and heartfelt Greta! Thank you for your hard work for our children!♥️ We need more fathers like Gretas thank for supporting your beautifu...

It is very important to get the word out that we are not helpless and there are a million things we can do.

Greta Thunberg On Three Years Of Climate Protests

It's been three years since Greta Thunberg first sat alone outside the Swedish Parliament to call for action on climate change. Now the young activist has become a global voice, continuing to hold world leaders to account on global warming. Six months after President Biden took office, is he doing enough? “This administration is not ready to act as seriously as we need, unfortunately,” Greta Thunberg tells NBC’s Mehdi Hasan.  “I don’t want you to hope for the future. I want you to panic.” - Greta Thunberg 2019 In 2021 there are still way too many people in charge telling lies just so they can go back to sleep. Its a problem that so many grownups act like children. "The dog ate my climate legislation! " I the span of 2 years we went from having 30 years to having 20. Climate Crisis: Greta Thunberg says UK climate leadership is a 'lie'

Greta Thunberg says the UK need to stop claiming to be a 'climate leader' ahead of the COP26 summit. She says the reports the UK government publish saying they are reducing emissions are not including emissions from travel and trade. Ms Thunberg was responding to a recent UNICEF report that says almost half the world's children are living in countries classed as being at extremely high risk of climate change impacts. When I was in my late teens growing up in the Great Britain we heard about climate change and the need for change by our government’s I’m 51 now 52 in November and still waiting for governments around the world to change especially in the G20 , and especially China and India in the growing economies with some of the biggest problems with emissions in the world along with the USA

Image
Calling for “massive” pressure to fight climate change after a dire report by the UN science panel on Monday, activist Greta Thunberg said she plans to go to this year’s global climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland. The deadly heat waves, gargantuan hurricanes and other weather extremes that are already happening will only become more severe, the United Nations panel on climate change told the world on Monday, reporting that global warming was dangerously close to being out of control – and that humans were “unequivocally” to blame. Referring to a recent spate of extreme weather events, Thunberg said: "These are all just symptoms of the climate crisis. We're not talking about the root cause itself, the things that are actually fuelling these events. And we are not holding people in power accountable." “I hope that this can be a wake up call,” Thunberg said of the report, in an interview. We value money above all else ( including survival ). It’s all about the fish, t...

'I've been told telling people about the climate crisis is a very dangerous thing to do' Greta Thunberg speaks at Davos 2020. “To act as if you love your children above all else” Such a basic and rational request, but our leaders, not just the US administration, but all our leaders are not walking their talk. The avoidable tragedy... If my leader, Trudeau, had half the courage of Greta... if only HEMP!!! it can be made into plastics, clothing, BIO FUEL, hemp-crete...so on it can replace oil in a lot of ways, i never hear about the pros of replacing pertol with it and it probably because oil companys dont want that to happen but growing hemp is also very benificial for the environment.... GOVERNMENTS SHOULD BE FUNDING FARMERS TO GROW HEMP!

Greta Thunberg and George Monbiot make short film on the climate crisis

Image
Environmental activists Greta Thunberg and George Monbiot have helped produce a short film highlighting the need to protect, restore and use nature to tackle the climate crisis. Living ecosystems like forests, mangroves, swamps and seabeds can pull enormous quantities of carbon from the air and store them safely, but natural climate solutions currently receive only 2% of the funding spent on cutting emissions. The film’s director, Tom Mustill of Gripping Films, said: 'We tried to make the film have the tiniest environmental impact possible. We took trains to Sweden to interview Greta, charged our hybrid car at George’s house, used green energy to power the edit and recycled archive footage rather than shooting new.' "What you do counts": what you don't do counts as well. YES! “There’s a magic machine that takes carbon out of the atmosphere, costs very little, and builds itself. It’s called...a tree!” It’s maddening trying to emphasize this to people who are so c...

Greta is a Warrior for Peace May God protect you and give you the strength to continue, thank you. You need to come to Brazil to talk about the Amazon and help raise awareness of the Brazilian government. It is not right that my favorite singer has more subscribers than Greta! It is absolutely wrong that everyone isn't always talking about this beautiful human and our emergency! Greta Thunberg is the revolutionary every individual, every state, every country, & the whole world needs. All other problems are trivially unimportant compared to what climate soldiers like Greta Thunberg fight for. Firstly I love Greta. Secondly, what blows my mind is how much negativity and criticism she has received from greedy, hateful politicians. It's honestly disturbing. When I listen to her speak I'm moved to tears. She's the voice in my heart and the reason in my mind. I love our Earth. I want to protect it. WE LOVE YOU GRETA!!!!! YOU'RE A HERO!! Your message was clear and prec...

Greta Thunberg full speech at 2018 UN Climate Change COP24 Conference

Image
15 year old activist Greta Thunberg speaks truth to power at the UN COP24 climate talks: "My name is Greta Thunberg. I am 15 years old. I am from Sweden. I speak on behalf of Climate Justice Now. Many people say that Sweden is just a small country and it doesn't matter what we do. But I've learned you are never too small to make a difference. And if a few children can get headlines all over the world just by not going to school, then imagine what we could all do together if we really wanted to. But to do that, we have to speak clearly, no matter how uncomfortable that may be. You only speak of green eternal economic growth because you are too scared of being unpopular. You only talk about moving forward with the same bad ideas that got us into this mess, even when the only sensible thing to do is pull the emergency brake. You are not mature enough to tell it like is. Even that burden you leave to us children. But I don't care about being popular. I care about cl...

Ted talks- save the world by changing the rules

Image
Greta Thunberg realized at a young age the lapse in what several climate experts were saying and in the actions that were being taken in society. The difference was so drastic in her opinion that she decided to take matters into her own hands. Greta is a 15-year-old Stockholm native who lives at home with her parents and sister Beata. She’s a 9th grader in Stockholm who enjoys spending her spare time riding Icelandic horses, spending time with her families two dogs, Moses and Roxy. She love animals and has a passion for books and science. At a young age, she became interested in the environment and convinced her family to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
